Following 19 years of work as an Assistant State's Attorney in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, John Curran was sworn in to represent the 41st Illinois Senate District in 2017. Prior to the General Assembly, he served as a board member for the DuPage County Board (2008-17), leaving the Board as Vice-Chairman in 2017. Additionally, Curran sits on the Board of Directors for the Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation. He received a J.D. Degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law, and a B.Sc. Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a recipient of several awards including the Legislative Hero Award, Defender of the Innocent Award, and the Friend of Agriculture Award. Currently, John works as an attorney at a private law firm. He lives in Downers Grove with his wife, Sue, their four daughters and niece.
